The East India Company opened a new boutique in Harrods, London on Saturday, 22nd March. The new 200 square foot store is our first dedicated space in a premium department store within the UK.

This launch brings together two iconic British brands, at the heart of which lies a tale of merchants, traders, pioneers and explorers - from the likes of Sir James Lancaster who led the East India Company’s first voyage East in 1601, to Charles Henry Harrod, who spotted an opportunity in the tea trade in the 1830s and launched his career with a small shop in Stepney, London.

We are delighted to invite all of our customers to enjoy the rich sensory experience of visiting our boutique in Harrods. Chairman Sanjiv Mehta describes The East India Company as a merchant business with a pioneering spirit, constantly seeking the critical ingredients required for success. He comments, “The East India Company holds limitless opportunities across many products, sectors and countries. We are determined to capitalise on the pedigree and enviable heritage of our brand.”
