During the 18th century, marmalade became synonymous with citrus fruits, particularly the bitter Seville orange. One of the many treats enjoyed by The East India Company’s Officers with breakfast, orange marmalade was quickly adopted across the Commonwealth, from Mumbai to Singapore and Hong Kong.
