We are delighted to announce the launch of our second store within Covent Garden, following on from the launch event held at our new store in The Royal Exchange. Perfectly timed for Christmas the elegant new stores offer a unique range of luxury fine foods and indulgent festive products to satify gifting needs.

Covent Garden is, of course, a fantastic retail destination buzzing with discerning local and tourist shoppers. Following on from the success of the store at Long Acre, Covent Garden that was opened last Christmas, The Company is now pleased to offer customers a bigger store in the Courtyard.

The Royal Exchange is an ideal spot for busy city employees wishing to indulge themselves with delicious gourmet foods. Interestingly, The East India Company and The Royal Exchange also have a fascinating shared history, both having been established by Royal charter from Queen Elizabeth I. The Royal Exchange was at the heart of commerce and trade in Central London and once stored The Company’s highly sought after pepper in its vaults. Having once traded exotic spices, tea and coffee in The Royal Exchange courtyard, The East India Company views the new store as the rekindling of an old trading partnership.

Both new stores will carry an expertly crafted range of exquisite teas and coffees; artisan sweet and savoury biscuits; a luxurious chocolate range; vintage and exotic jams, marmalades and mustards; and gourmet salts and sugars. The extensive selection will also include The East India Company’s eclectic accessories and exclusive Bone China and Porcelain ranges unique in appearance and rich in history. Each design has been handed down through a specific artisan family, and each piece is painted by a master craftsmen using mineral paints and 18 carat Gold.

Commenting on the new launches, Sanjiv Mehta, Chairman of The East India Company said,

“We are delighted to be expanding the company across London with the launch of our two new stores at The Royal Exchange and The Covent Garden Courtyard. These locations have a long historical connection with The East India Company – it is with excitement that we will be continuing our legacy in these premier shopping destinations inviting food enthusiasts the chance to try our unique range of fine foods”

“These launches increase the accessibility of The Company’s gourmet offering in the UK with more stores to be launched in London early next year”

We look forward to welcoming you into our new stores as we celebrate the end of an exciting year.
