IN CELEBRATION OF HER MAJESTY THE QUEEN’S 90TH BIRTHDAY
ENJOY A CUP OF ROYAL FLUSH TEA
ROYAL FLUSH TEA
In 1954, a tea bush was planted by Prince Philip on the grounds of the Pedro Estate to commemorate Queen Elizabeth's first state visit to Sri Lanka after her Coronation. In 2012, The East India Company picked leaves from the original tea bush to make a tea that was selected and served at the official royal lunch for the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee.
Over the last 61 years, cuttings taken from the original bush have been propagated on the estate resulting in an exclusive “royal tea” area. Our Royal Flush Tea is created from tea picked from these bushes and is unique to The East India Company. Our exquisite Royal Flush Tea brews a rich, golden liquor. Smooth, delicate and bright with a hint of sweetness, it makes the perfect treat for a special celebration.
