We are delighted to invite you to our pop-up store and spice experience at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew as part of the Full Of Spice Summer Festival from Saturday 23 May - Sunday 6 September 2015.

KEW GARDENS
Visit us at The Spice Exchange, a specially built pavilion for the Full of Spice festival and home to programme of immersive activities, including storytelling, performances, food demonstrations and workshops. We are located outside the north end of the Princess of Wales Conservatory at Kew Gardens and will be serving spicy iced tea and fine foods treats throughout summer.
Inspired by how ubiquitous spices have become in our everyday lives, the timber frame of the pavilion has been interlaced with thousands of spice jars, creating a unique display of contemporary ingredients.

From sweet vanilla to spicy pepper, discover the botanical origins of your favourite flavours at the Full of Spice Summer Festival at Kew Gardens. The East India Company and the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew, have a great historical connection, both having supplied the world with plants, seeds and ideas...
The Company brought back treasures of plants, fine teas, coffees, spices, and silks from far off lands, making everything available in the same place for the first time. Its headquarters, East India House, was on Leadenhall Street, at the current site of Lloyds of London.
Clove Crescent, Nutmeg Lane, Saffron Avenue...Even street names were influenced by The Company’s huge spice trade.

Whilst you visit Kew Gardens, we welcome you to join us at our pop-up store and learn more about our heritage. From bringing peppercorns and nutmeg back to Britain, to losing three hundred and forty two chests of tea at the Boston Tea Party, The Company changed customs, tastes and ways of thinking, influencing the very fabric of our lives today. London was the centre, a vast global warehouse stocked with treasures from around the world.
